What Zzzap Is
Zzzap is a decision tool for people who trust each other. There is no feed, no public profile, and no audience of strangers. The only people who see your zzzaps are the people you send them to, and the only people who can send you zzzaps are people you follow. That design does most of the protecting. These guidelines cover the rest.
The Short Version
Ask real questions. Answer honestly. Treat the people in your circles the way you would at their dinner table. If someone would not have sent it to your face, do not send it through Zzzap.
Not Welcome on Zzzap
- Harassment and bullying. Using zzzaps, write-in answers, or comments to demean, intimidate, or pile on a person.
- Hate. Content that attacks people for who they are: race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or anything else about their identity.
- Sexual content involving minors. Zero tolerance. Reported to authorities where required by law.
- Threats and violence. Threatening harm, encouraging self-harm, or celebrating violence against anyone.
- Sexually explicit or shocking imagery. Photo zzzaps are screened automatically, and explicit or gratuitously violent images are blocked before delivery.
- Illegal activity. Using Zzzap to arrange, promote, or conduct anything illegal.
- Scams and dangerous links. Links are checked against known phishing and malware lists, and link traps of any kind are grounds for removal.
- Impersonation. Pretending to be someone you are not, including other users or Zzzap itself.
Zzzap is a tool for adults that families also use. Everyday adult conversation, including the occasional strong word between friends, is not a violation. The line is targeting people, not seasoning language.
Your Controls
- Nobody can reach you without your consent. Only people you follow can send you zzzaps. Unfollow someone and they lose that access immediately.
- Block. Blocking someone removes the relationship in both directions. They cannot see you, find you, or contact you.
- Report. Every zzzap can be reported from inside the app. Reported content is hidden from you immediately and reviewed by us within 24 hours.
- Discoverability. You choose whether people can find you by name, email, or phone number, and you can turn it off any time.
Enforcement
We review reports within 24 hours. Depending on severity, we remove content, warn the account, suspend it, or ban it permanently. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior, and repeat offenders lose access to Zzzap. Where the law requires it, we report to the appropriate authorities.
If you believe we got a decision wrong, write to us and a human will take a second look.
